Even more evidence that firmware version 2.40 will contain the most wanted feature, in-game Xross Media Bar.
Moderators and EA employee’s are all confirming that 2.4 will indeed have in-game XMB. Take a look at the following screen grabs.
A moderator of NeoGAF started the revival thread for the in-game XMB rumor:
Not only that but an Electronic Arts employee also confirmed this rumor:
ANd lastly word for a second-party Sony official:
So it looks to be that these rumors floating around saying that in-game XMB will be included in the next firmware update are looking to be true. We can only wait and see.
World in Conflict is making it way to the Playstation 3 this year or next and promises to be as good as the PC version visually. Below is a trailer of the initial Soviet invasion on a map set in Norway. I’m sure the PS3 version will be able to produce the visuals seen in the PC version.

There are rumors floating around that a Playstation 3 version of the WII Remote is in development for the PS3.
Some lucky Playstation 3 owners were sent to a facility in California to test a new product in development – the Playstation 3 Remote.
First of all you can connect 4 PS3motes at one time allowing 4 players playing at the same time. When these PS3 owners arrived at the facility the demonstrator was showing games that ranged from tennis to fencing to a paintballing game. The demonstrator also used the PS3mote to play Quake on his laptop.
The PS3mote is incredibly accurate and responsive.
“The biggest concern of the demonstrator was that for these “PS3motes†to work they needed the tripod, which connected to the PS3’s USB port. It also needed to be set up in the middle of your gaming area, much like a “batter standing above home plateâ€. So this may not be in the final version as it seemed they were trying to come up with a more convenient method.”
The group was given a number of designs of the PS3mote and was asked to say which one was the best and most comfortable.

We posted earlier that we were expecting to see a trailer for Capcoms upcoming survival horror Resident Evil 5. Well now the trailer is out and you can watch over at Gametrailers.com. Fracture, an upcoming game where you can deform the terrain, make paths, block enemies and do a lot more. Developed by Day 1 Studios and published by LucasArts is set to be released summer 2008. This post is a prediction, speculation, rumor type one so if you have any please comment and let me know what your opinions are.
This is an article looking at the possibilities of other 360 ‘exclusive’ games coming to the PS3 after the BioShock incident.
Lets talk about what 360 games are possible to make their way to the Playstation 3. Afterall everyone said that BioShock will never ever be on the PS3 but look what happened! BioShock was a 360 exclusive and its making its way to the PS3 and will be released in October with enhanced visuals and content included. What other 360 ‘exclusive games’ could make the same move?
Mass Effect
Electronic Arts aren’t really known for making games exclusive so i think it’s likely that PS3 will see Mass Effect 2. It’s like it is their policy to release games multiplatform. Remember Electronic Arts now have control of the Mass Effect series.
Ninja Gaiden 2
Ninja Gaiden Sigma was released on the Playstation 3 exclusively but what makes Team Ninja not doing a port later on in the future? Itagaki said:
“We’ve announced it as an Xbox 360 exclusive, but I don’t own Tecmo the company.”
Infinite Undiscovery
360 is doing so bad in Japan and this is a Japanese RPG. It would make sense for Square Enix to release it on Playstation 3 is the 360 version does bad. Some of you might say that Microsoft is publishing this game but not fully, Square Enix is a publisher too.
Dead Rising
So the 360 got Devil May Cry from us, we can take Dead Rising from them. Prediction is that it will eventually get ported over to the PS3. Many people said that Lost Planet made up for the Devil May Cry loss but others think not. Could Dead Rising make up for the loss?
Tales of Vesperia
If you take a look at this post you will see that this game was listed for the Playstation 3 too. It turned out to be a mistake but they might be considering or it could be decided it will be coming out for the PS3 but don’t want the world to know.
Gears of War
Hmmm a lot of people are doubting this one. We will just have to see what happens in the future, anything can happen.
Ace Combat 6
Released as a 360 exclusive but will make its way to the Playstation 3 due to it being a ‘timed’ exclusive.
Left 4 Dead
Currently being released on both 360 and PC but the developers have stated in the past that a PS3 version is possible. Electronic Arts might port the game but lets hope they do a better job than they did with The Orange Box.

There are a number of rumors saying that Square Enix’s upcoming Role Playing Game Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Europe before North America. The latest reports think that FFXIII will be released in Japan and Europe (2008) before North America (2009).
Although a simultaneous is ideal for the world but if rumors are true why is that they might decide to release it in Europe first? Is it because the European gaming market is now stronger than the US?
There are a lot of rumors around reporting what will be in the upcoming 2.4 firmware update. The first rumor i came across is that the firmware will be released sometime in june – around the sametime as Metal Gear Solid 4 is released. Multiple sources have stated this so its most likely we will see it in June.
A ps3forums.com members called Doodlepants has reported that version 2.4 will feature a Multiple sign-in meaning it will be possible to have multiple local player sign-in, in multiplayer games that support it.
“What I know is that you will be able to access your information and upload your highscores.”
Another rumor we heard is that the Xross Media Bar will now have a clock and will display date and time in the upper right corner.
Last but not least the new firmware will allow us to access the Xross Media Bar in-game. This is the most wanted feature in an update and i think its going to happen in version 2.4.
