Jeff Rubenstein posted on the official PlayStation Blog that they want help, helping you. In other words, give your opinion and they will do their best to meet your/our demands.

The survey doesn’t consist out of questions like, are you male of female. How much do you earn. But it the likes of, Would you like to see a podcast from the PlayStation Social Media Team and would you like to see a specific regional (Europe, Asia) blog.

So head over and start filling in that survey. It’s for the future of all PlayStation owners.

We mentioned that Sony has around £2 million (4m USD) to spend marketing Killzone which is schedule to be released on the 27th of Feb 09.

The advert you are about to see is sure to make an impact on game sales and possible system sales.

What do you think of this advert?

Sony had around £4million to spend on advertisement, what they do with that is up to them but £2million of that is going towards advertising Killzone 2.

Killzone 2 is the biggest Playstation 3 title and needs to be advertised correctly. So, where is the other £2million going? It will be split among the PSP range, games include Resistance: Retribution, Buzz! Brain and SingStar Queen along with several other titles nearer the Christmas period.

SCEE’s marketing director, Alan Duncan said to MCV:

We felt that the chaos of Q4 meant there was a good opportunity for re-promoting our games after Christmas. The creative for the campaign focuses on critical accolade and is aimed at gamers still catching up with all those titles that came out before Christmas.

The marketing expenditure will be split between TV, cinema, online, in-store promotion and “a great deal of PR activity”, according to Duncan.

Good news for Playstation Home users and Arcade lovers because Namco is bringing it’s classics to Playstation Home. The following games are confirmed to be making their way; Xevious, Galaga, Pac-man, Digdug and Dragon Spirit.

Obviously the games will not be free, you have to buy the Namco Arcade to play them in Home. The only worry at the moment is no confirmation on an American and European release, Japan will be getting it soon.

Killzone 2 kicks off 2009 and makes it a great start for the year for Playstation 3 owners. What about 2010? God of War 3 will kick off 2010 because according to Gamestop sources they’ve unveiled an e-mail sent to them by Sony that March 2010 is the estimated release date for God of War 3. So, God of War 3 is a year away, this gives Sony plenty of time to make such a quality game.

Sony has commented on the year-on-year decrease in Playstation 3 units, but the company say that they are still on the right  trajectory to hit previously-announced goals.

Compared to last year, the PS3 is slightly worse, but on a full year basis they believe they are on track. Sony EVP and CFO Nobuyuki Oneda says:

In terms of units, it is true that PS3, as compared to last year, is slightly worse, but on a full-year basis we believe we are on track to sell the 10 million units that I said at the beginning of the year,

Sony managed to shift 4.46m units during the Q3 fiscal, this has dropped 9% compared to 4.9m for the same quarter last year.

Relatively speaking, [compared to] the growth of other platforms, we are behind, but it’s not the case that we are not meeting the target.

Sales in the games division dropped to 581.2 billion yen ($6.5 billion) during the quarter. Operating income went down to 4 million yen which is a 97% decrease. The division is still profitable due to “due to the steady reductions in the cost of PS3 hardware.”

With the timer hitting zero on the official Final Fantasy XIII website, a new trailer was shown. It showed the battle system that will be used in the game. You’ll see some familiar faces, and learn on what at least is happening in the game.

Savage Moon has finally released here in North America. So I’ll be taking a dip into the game. Bejeweled 2 has been added to the PSN list. LittleBigPlanet content has made a return. If your still unsure about getting Burnout Paradise, you’ll find out that the game has is available for purchase on the PSN for $19.99.

For those of you that might import Yakuza 3, be prepared for its massive installation. The game has a lengthy 5GB installation when you pop the game in, so make sure you have the space before you place that order.

The game is scheduled to be released on the 27th of February 2009. No western release date confirmed as of yet.
