The Sims 3 coming?

It appears that EA’s The Sims 3 could make it’s way to the PS3 – or consoles in general. EA has announced their release schedule for their 2011 fiscal year which runs from April 1st, 2010 to March 31st, 2011.

One of the eye cathcing names was this:

The Sims 3 on Console Title TBA.

Is it really coming?

Subscription coming to PSN?

VG247 made a post about a slide at the Media/Investor Conference. Slide 39 shows that there will be a “new revenue stream from subscription”. What this subscription might be, they don’t know yet and as do we so far (we’ve contacted out SCEE rep). Though the PlayStation Network is listed as a key advantage on the PlayStation 3.

Could it perhaps be a subscription for the comic store? Or is it the thing we’ve dreaded the most, online subscription like with it’s counterpart Xbox Live.

What do you think it might be?

Rockstar working on DLC for PS3 version?

Ok so we all know that the downloadable content is on the Xbox 360 but no one says it’s staying there. In a recent interview with my local radio station with “Cousin Ed & Dima” from Rockstar, they suggest the content is definitely just a timed deal.

I don’t know entirely what I can talk about, but it’s on Xbox. Microsoft came to us and said ‘hey here is some money if you can bring the content to us FIRST

So what does the above statement mean? It basically means that Microsoft went to Rockstar with $50 million and said bring it to us first before PS3 get it.

New controller underway?

unidentified sce controller 1

We know SCE is working the motion controller, but this is a different type of controller. Siliconera found a new unidentified Sony controller patent.

A design patent application for this unannounced device was filed in the US by Sony Computer Entertainment. The document is light on details, but calls the device a “hand held game controller”.

The controller is being developed in the USA since all of the inventors are from southern California. More specifically, one of them works at Sony’s Electronics Design center in Los Angeles.

Could this be linked to the motion controller to make gaming easier, or is this a controller on it own? We’d like to hear it.

Killzone 3 in the Pipeline for 2010?

According to a PlayStation: The Official magazine reader, when he received his December issue, he caught a glimpse of Secret Games for 2010.

Listed was Resistance 3, Call of Duty World at War sequel, and Killzone 3. Seeing Killzone 3 this soon was surprising, but glad to see, since all the tech and infrastructure they have are already done. Take this as a huge RUMOR label, since nothing was announced as of yet. Expect to hear more of this news if in fact true in the future.

“Insider slips reveal three big names you can already pencil for the next year. Killzone 3 is reportedly deep in development, Insomniac’s Full Moon Show podcast hints at a project we can only conclude is Resistance 3, and a Treyarch employee’s online mentions a Call of Duty: World at World sequel.”

Cross game chat confirmed for next firmware

In a post that got deleted not soon after it was posted by a Naughty Dog dev going by the PSN name ReklissAbandon we were able to strenghten the rumour that cross game chat will be in the next firmware.
Here is post before it got deleted

I think they wanted people to have fun and ejoy the show since all dead players can talk to each other no matter what team you are on. But I will suggest it anyway. Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat. So if players use that instead of in game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies positions.

The last bit does worry me as online playing causes more and more gamers to find a way to cheat or how they would call it, use all means necessary to win. We’ll see how that will go

We’ll keep seeing Drake

We’re not talking about the rapper Drake but about Nathan Drake from the Uncharted games. Following Amy Hennig comment to D’toid that folks may not have seen the last of Nathan Drake.

The hero is still popular enough to develop another sequel

There is no limit to how many games we could make, as long as people still want to see more adventures with Nathan Drake. Obviously, none of us want to wear our welcome out, but we are still having a lot of fun with it, and we think there is a lot of untapped possibilities there

Though that sounds they could milk this till it’s worthless like the Need for Speed franchise we hope Naughty Dog approach this concept better then EA has.

Four New PS3 Games?

LinkedIn is supposedly working on 5 games, 4 being on the PS3 platform. Only two of these only have names, while the other two are concepts. Key Solomon being one title, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight the other title.

The Key of Solomon game is meant to be based on Goetia and Legemeton, which is a 17th century grimoire book on demonology, containing descriptions of the seventy-two demons that King Solomon is said to have evoked and confined in a bronze vessel sealed by magic symbols, and that he obliged to work for him.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, is based on the 14th century novel. In which Sir Gawain accepts a challenge from a mysterious warrior who is completely green, from his clothes and hair to his beard and skin. The “Green Knight” offers to allow anyone to strike him with his axe if the challenger will take a return blow in a year and a day. Gawain accepts, and beheads him in one blow, only to have the Green Knight stand up, pick up his head, and remind Gawain to meet him at the appointed time. The story of Gawain’s struggle to meet the appointment and his adventures along the way demonstrate the spirit of chivalry and loyalty.

The other two concepts are a Ninja JRPG, and a Zombie Survival Horror Game. Since Sony hasn’t come out and announced these titles, we’re gonna label this as rumor.

Evan Wells wants to bring Uncharted to the PSP

Co President of Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells was in a interview and said that Drake’s next adventure could take him straight into uncharted territory – the PSP. He also said this about it:

We’d love to see Uncharted grow beyond the PS3,” Wells said, “It would be interesting to see what sort of changes to the design one would make for a portable system.” Right now, though, Naughty Dog is all hands on deck developing for the PS3, so it might be further down the road if we’re going to have a portable Uncharted.

PS3 Slim 250GB Bundle Coming October?

A retailer in speaking with Eurogamer has some details on a new PS3 Slim SKU may be releasing as soon as October. The new PS3 Slim SKU would be packaged with one of three games. Having  a choice of Assassins Creed 2, Gran Turismo 5, or Uncharted 2.

What’s more peculiar were that Gran Turismo 5 had earlier reports of releasing this holiday season, soon after Gran Turismo PSP is released. So this news may be true. Possible announcement at Tokyo Game Show? Stay tuned for more details on this topic.

Sony 3D support for ALL PS3 games not sure yet

Sony said maybe all games will be in 3D. There no date on when the 3d coming out but i may be by next year in a FW update and sony does not know if they could make games in 3D but they are trying . Sony said this about all games in 3D:

For now, they’re “conducting a technological investigation” to see if they can even pull off that amazing stunt. Imagine, ALL PS3 games in 3-D. In fact, Sony said, “there is no plan for the market launch of this at this time.”

Dirt 2 demo arriving today

Codemasters let know yesterday that they are going to release the Dirt 2 demo on the PlayStation Store. Though the date is not solid it seems that today will be the day.

The most exciting, intense, off-road racing game of the year is almost upon us, with the game hitting shop shelves on September 11th. But if, like most of us, you just can’t wait that long to hit the DiRT, then you’ll be pumped to hear that the next-gen console versions of the demo are going to be released this week
