COD4 developers making a sci-fi title

The team behind Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are rumoured to be making a new sci-fi title.
Speaking with TalkPlayStation.com an insider said “we are currently working on a new sci-fi title, we cannot release any more information as of yet, we may or may not announce it at E3″.
So what sort of sci-fi game will this be? Most likely a first person shooter, maybe its something that will rival Halo.
Infinity Ward are famous for developing Call of Duty 4, they have no part in Call of Duty 5 as Treyarch are in control of it.
Sooo… maybe this is a hint at Call of Duty 6? With Treyarch sticking with WWII, and Infinity Ward already moving forward with Modern Combat, maybe the next installment will be a futuristic shooter? If so, then they seem to be following the “Battlefield” strategy, eh?

They are working on Call of Duty 5 too, remember the Treyarch title no longer carries the 5, Infinity Ward controls the next numbered iteration. And it seems a little out of place for them to carry this franchise into the future already. Not to mention it simply wouldn’t make sense to show it off at all this E3. Activision has yet to show us a single video of Call of Duty: World at War due out this year, why show us this so early? It seems Infinity Ward has 2 games in the works, and it only makes sense that since Cod4 did so well they’d actually take on the Halo franchise with a rival sci-fi fps. Or it’s possible with the new found power they wield as a developer there exploring a pet project.
