Jak & Daxter 5: The Lost Frontier videos?

We’ve bumped into 2 videos on YouTube that could be the next Jak and Daxter game, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, and the game could be on the cards for deffinite release.

Looks very interested indeed, these could be leaked videos of the fifth game in the series. For anyone that’s played ALL the Jak and Daxter games, do the scenes in the videos above ring any bell?
Our Opinion: This is Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier and will be revealed at E3.
This could be Sony’s secret game they are going to announce. This is going to be a very good E3 for PS3 fans.

the first one isnt from the 5th one couse that dude became a hologram in the 3rd one
NOT! “the hologram” you’re talking about is vin and he isn’t really a hologram he transfered his brain into the main eco grid so he could escpae the metalhead and crimson guard attack. vin doesn’t have goggles and isn’t a mad scientist. he is more like a jumpy nerd :3
I’m a HUUUUUUUGGGEEEEE fan of the Jak & Daxter series, and I would love to see a PS3 incarnation.
As I understood it, Naughty Dog were going to go straight to work on the 2nd Uncharted game. Which would be no bad thing, of course. But I sooooo hope that J&D will make an appearance on PS3 soon.
Mind you, wouldn’t the next game really be J&D 4? We had Jak 3, then Jak X Combat Racing, which was really a J&D game in name only.

You’d think that, but Insomniac made their future RaC games for the Ps3, and I reckon Naughty Dog will be the same.
I might be wrong, but they probably won’t care too much about the few people who don’t have a ps3.
I don’t have one myself, but I just get over it.
well i did alot of reserch and they are making it for the ps2,and the psp the ps3 im not sure of though even though i think they will make it for the ps3 but the ps2 and the psp they are 100% making it for.
I thought they were working on Uncharted 2 also. However, this could have been in development for a long time as well. I am still not 100% convinced that this is Jak 4 (X was just a spin off)
I don’t know about the first one but if you look closely at the second one Daxter is wearing the pants he gets at the end of Jak 3.
Do you people actually read what the screen says?
Up on the camera borders, it states the resolution of the video… and hence it should be either a cut scene from one of the PS2 games or just a simple preproduction animatic again, from the PS2…
@ the wretched, can you really see that amount of detail on blurry you tube videos?

I have been waiting for them to come out with an update. This sure would be nice.
I heard back last year that another Jak sequel was in the works (they would be crazy not to make one for the PS3. Another great Jak and Daxter and Uncharted 2 is all I ask for.

yes, I can read it, and yes, I this is surely the resolution it is being rendered it… And those resolutions ARE what Jak 1 through 3 were likely rendered at…
The resolution proves nothing yes it is small but the first clip is a character animation test and not a final. the character is supposed to be a hologram and could still be as there is no textures or shaders on it. however the visuals dont look good enough for a current-gen release particularly since uncharted looked so good
I just watched both a few times daxter has pants on in the first one too. We will find out in a few days if its from a new game when e3 comes around. fingers crossed
The textures on the cliffs in the background of the second video look very low res, but that could just just be quality of the videos, it is youtube after all. or like someone else said it could be an animatic for a cutscene and thus wouldn’t be high res anyway. i hope it is a new game, would rather see a new jak than a new uncharted. Peace x
On the low res thingy, I always preview my work in low res (things just run so much smoother when you are working live and/or you need the preview or exports rendered FASTER). Why is this an issue? Just because the resolution could be higher does not mean that this is old video.
Jak & Daxter 5? was the racing game 4th?
The racing game was just a spin off, it does not affect the main storyline of the Jak and Daxter franchise at all.

Well, there is a Daxter game – and it’s one of the best on the PSP. Make sure you pick it up.

ohhhh man its finaly coming out Ive been a fan since the first game and I still can’t wait
“The demolition duo” is a once-used term from Jak II: Renegade. When you return to Torn after destroying an ammo dump in the fortress, Daxter uses it. The landscape is pretty stereotypical of the Jak games. It resembles the pumping station from Jak II: Renegade specifically to me. However, the Jak used is the Jak from Jak 3… The gun is a purple variation but it does not look like the peacemaker, the mass inverter (or imploder, I can’t remember), or the super nova.
My theory is that it’s a scene that was cut in the making from Jak 3. Especially because the fallen enemy is a mechanism, and you mechanism compose a much larger portion of your enemies in Jak 3 than in Jak II where metal heads and live Krimson guards compose the majority of the baddies. The explanation for the gun looking odd is that the final models were not established at the time the scene was cut. Not only the scene, but seemingly, the whole related mission must have been wiped.
Perhaps the whole “Vinnish” character was a proposed model of Vin after Jak returns to the city and was compromised for Vin dumping his brain into the grid…You ever wonder how he could dump his brain if his brain had been removed from his body?
In regards to the pants (I just read the previous posts), perhaps when Daxter received pants was at that point unknown, and instead of making life easier by making all scenes without pants, they made life difficult with all pants.
I am not sure if Jak 4/5/6 (or since it is not officially a sequel, Jak 1 or something) has been officially announced. I have been looking around tonight for any official confirmation, but I cannot find anything. IGN has the dates 12-31-09 for USA and AU but that’s hardly worth acknowledgment. Naughtydog.com could care less if the Jak franchise was wiped off the face of the earth…
Does anyone have a source for official confirmation that Naughtydog is working on a Jak sequel?

Videos have been removed?
I checked the vids on youtube and noticed a few things:
1. It says they’re on a dangerous island – I don’t know
2. NO, thats not Vin, it’s a new character
3. Jak has a similar haircut to jak x, but not the same – so thats new
4. They never fought a robot like that – so thats also new
5. thats not much to have in a game, so it’s likely going to be a while until it’s released
this game isnt coming out on ps3 and naughty dog is not making it high impact games is making it and its coming to the psp this fall and it will be later ported to the ps2
this game is going to be realeased in fall of 2009 for the ps2,psp,and the ps3 and there will be hoverboard upgrades and 5 types of new aircraft you can drive!!!!!
so jak and daxter aren’t coming out to ps2? i mean kh isn’t and now jak too? this is so wrong if its only for ps3’s. + the videos don’t work.
