The Playstation 3 has the potential to better the graphics than it’s rival, Xbox 360, a Volition developer said.

Red Faction: Guerrilla producer:

finding some of the challenges of the PS3 beneficial.

Videogamer.com has spoken to Jeff Carroll, associate producer of Red Faction at THQ’s Gamers Day in San Francisco, California. Jeff mentioned that although the PS3 is harder to develop for, developers will get their head round it and figure it out and find a very powerful system underneath.

Jeff Carrol went on to say:

We’ve got the PS3 running at a similar frame rate to the 360. We’re finding some of the challenges of the PS3 beneficial. We feel like we’re doing rather well with the PS3.

Speaking in more detail regarding the PS3 version Carrol mentioned:

We have been getting the physics system, the Havok system and our own proprietary destruction system running on the SPUs, as well as our animations. We’re seeing quite a decent speed improvement now that we’ve effectively got that running on the SPUs instead of the CPUs.

This is just a snippet of what Jeff Carrol has to say about PS3 being the more powerful system. Read the full article at videogamer.com.
