Sony Fixes Our Problems But We Still Complain

Before Firmware 2.40 hit our PlayStation 3’s many of us complained about the features the PlayStation 3 needed. Such features as in-game music, trophies and in game XMB. We got two of these features, but in game music is a really much needed feature for the PlayStation 3. Soon after that we were given 2.41, which fixed the problems the update people were getting and a new icon for the platinum trophy. And then 2.42 and so on and so forth. But people still complained and demanded more.
Then 2.50 was released and one of the main features it had was the adobe 9 update to the PlayStation 3’s Internet browser (click here to make the most of the browser). And now I see people on forums writing that they want adobe 10 flash player for the PlayStation 3. Well my PlayStation 3 is perfectly fine the way it is, I just play games on it and that’s all I will do with it. I have my own PlayStation 3, a 32 inch LCD television in my bedroom, I have 46 PlayStation 3 games, I am on a total of 497 trophies and I have two sixaxis and two DualShock 3 controllers. What more could I ask for.
Then the PlayStation 3 was updated to 2.60, which gamers referred to it as the non gaming firmware update. It doesn’t matter what I get in an update as long as it doesn’t improve the playback quality of some PlayStation 3 and PlayStation format software. The reason why is because Sony doesn’t even tell us what games got updated. The photo gallery is a nice edition to the XMB menu as it makes it a lot easier to organize our photos. And yet people still complain about what the PlayStation 3 needs, and if any of you people noticed the updates are free so you should be happy with what Sony has to offer.
The PlayStation 3 is fine where it is but if Sony wants to add some free applications to it I don’t see why they shouldn’t do it. Some gamers should just accept the fact that we get these updates free of charge some good and some bad but at least Sony is updating their console with brand new content every couple of weeks or even months in that matter. At least they’re trying their hardest to give as a good reason to why we bought a PlayStation 3 instead of the Xbox 360 or a Wii. I have heard that the 3.0 firmware update for the PlayStation 3 should be a pretty big update and many people are claiming it will match or even surpass the Xbox 360’s online playing. Let’s just hope that Sony knows what they are doing and the PlayStation 3 will rise to the top this year.

I’ve had a PS3 for over a year now. I like the updates that they’ve given us. I recently bought an xbox 360…mainly for Fable 2. After enjoying fallout 3 on the PS3 and getting my character leveled up, I now find out that DLC is only available for the 360…so I have to play the game all over again on the 360.
With so many cross platform games coming out, and DLC being released as exclusives, this will be the deciding factor. Give me good DLC for my PS3 and I’ll buy the game.
Well that’s Microsoft for ya
what is up will all these post you been putting up (thomas cronin) complaing about people who complain about videogames. No matter what you say there will always be someone who complains about something, all your doing is complaining about the complainers.
Well i’m just trying to tell people not to complain about it. If that means that I have to complain about it then i will complain about it. It’s the only way I can get my point across.
i promise you I PROMISE U that 3.00 will match xbox live. i do have sources and right now there testing cross game invites. my psn is squishy_butt if u want to know more. im not lying
You make some valid points. But you need to proof read what you’ve written. Or get someone else to before you post it. The spelling & grammatical errors are quite jarring & don’t help you get your point across.
I have to agree. I’ve been saying for quite some time that there is a certain element of PS3 owners who just don’t seem to be happy unless they’re whining about something. They whine about it, then they get what they want, and they just move on to whining about something else.
The current favourite is cross-game invites and chat. While I can see why some people would want it, I personally couldn’t care less. If I’m playing a game online, I’m with my Clan buddies who are in the same game, and I don’t want to be talking to anyone else playing another game, or receiving invites to this, that and the other. If I’m playing a single-player game, I’m offline anyway, as I like to lose myself in the game; having a conversation with someone else who’s playing something else is a distraction, and the absolute last thing I want.
Having said that, if Sony were to release Firmware 3.0 tomorrow with cross-game chat and invites, people would just find something else to whine about.
The PS3 has moved on massively since it launched, with a wealth of features added or improved. And all for free. Yes, there’s room for improvement, but I’m grateful for whatever they give us. I knew what the PS3 could and could not do when I bought it, and I was happy with that. Anything else is a bonus, and I’ve had a lot of bonuses since March 2007, so I’m more than satisfied.
If and when they start charging me a monthly fee, _then_ I may feel I have a right to bitch and moan.
