During Square Enix’s Conference all things Final Fantasy XIII, a few good news came out of it. One of these is a confirmed bundle for the Japan audience for a PS3 Slim and a copy of Final Fantasy XIII, with more details to come at Tokyo Game Show.

Square Enix is still aiming for a Spring Target release for the western market, meaning North America and Europe, possibly simultaneous. With more news on this possibly coming in Tokyo Game Show.

Last but not least the Japanese release date we reported earlier has been confirmed, available for sale on Dec. 17th.

Square has also shown a new trailer, but not available for public viewing, so we’ll have to wait.

In a recent issue of V-Jump, a character seen in the E3 2009 Trailer has been revealed. The silver haired figure that can be seen at the bottom of the post is Yaag Rosch. He’s a lieutenant colonel, and is the rival against Lighning and her colleagues. His role in the game is closely similar to those of the Turks in Final Fantasy VII. He has the desire for peace with Cocoon’s citizens.

Also, the summon Odin Gestalt can transform into a lightning horse, much how like the Shiva sisters can transform into motorcycles. His list of attacks are Roaring Sword, Vacuum Breaker, Crying Heaven Ten Thousand Thunder. His signature attack has also made the return, Zantetsuken.

The game is continued for a Winter 09 release in Japan, hopefully a confirmation will arise within the Tokyo Game Show.

The Japanese Playstation Store can expect to get Final Fantasy and will be added as a PSone classic on the 24th of June 2009. It will be the original, first Final Fantasy and will weigh in at just 60MB in file size. Price? 600 Yen.

It will probably make it’s way to other Stores later on in the year.

A new trailer was shown for Square Enix’s much anticipated RPG, Final Fantasy XIII. The target release for the game is Spring of 2010. The voice over is in English also.

With the timer hitting zero on the official Final Fantasy XIII website, a new trailer was shown. It showed the battle system that will be used in the game. You’ll see some familiar faces, and learn on what at least is happening in the game.

Many of you probably haven’t heard of Square Enix’s tower defense game, Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders. It was originally a mobile game for cell phones in Japan only. Later on, it was made as an application for iPhone users. 

Crystal defenders takes place under Final Fantasy A2’s universe. The game will make an appearance next week for Wii users, only available to Japan. Square Enix is already hard at work on porting the game for the PlayStation 3, most likely in the PlayStation Network category. It will be titled Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders R1. This game will only be available to Japan, but their may be plans for a release out of Japan. It’s already localized to English. 

Nothing was released if the PlayStation 3 version will be an upgrade of the original mobile game.

Famitsu showed off some more new images of the new character from Final Fantasy XIII. Like last weeks revealment, it continues to show off his hairdo. 

Japan will be getting a new bundle this year. It’s going to be the Final Fantasy VII: advent Children bundle with a design on it. Included in the bundle is a 160GB PlayStation 3, copy of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on Blu-Ray, and a demo of Final Fantasy XIII. Word is that there will be an english option for the movie. There’s a least likely chance of an english option on the demo, but if we hear otherwise, we’ll let you know. The price of this bundle is roughly $551 US dollars, or equivalent to ¥49,980. You’ll see a photo of the PS3 below.

In the latest V-Jump magazine in Japan, some new screens have surfaced for Final Fantasy XIII. A name of the red headed female has also been given, along with a battle sequence. The name revealed appears to be Oerba Dia Vanille. Click the gallery below to view them.

In Japan, Sony awards titles that are hits in Japan. In order to get these awards, they had to meet a certain criteria for the company. The Gold award is given to games that have shipped 500,000-1,000,000 copies. While the Double Platinum award is given to those that achieved shipments of one million through two million copies. Here are the games that were recognized for their accomplishments:

At the Tokyo Game Show, Media Molecule announced that Solid Snake and Sephiroth will be available in LittleBigPlanet. 

 

It all started with the Helghast thing. It was really funny because we were aware of a lot of possibilities of who we could work with. I remember the first time that Final Fantasy was mentioned, and there was a bet over whether it would be happened since it’s such a precious franchise.

And with Metal Gear, I bought my PS1 for Metal Gear Solid, and I didn’t have a memory card – so I left the game on when I went to work and came home and played some more.

To be involved with MGS is… slightly bizarre. When we were looking at what options as a studio we’d have to work with, they were under the “yeah, right!” category of games.

LittleBigPlanet and Sackboy have a strong identity and flavor. So then you try to find the translation to Metal Gear and Sephiroth, and the guys that made the characters really brought the flavors of LittleBigPlanet and Metal Gear together and kept the flavor of both of them

[On Final Fantasy collaboration:] It’s a whole universe, and they’ve built up this ethos. And we’re honored to be let into that universe.

Saddening that Final Fantasy XIII is still not playable. Expect Square Enix to show the trailers behind closed doors.

According to a post made in the NeoGAF forums, Tuesdays issue of Famitsu was leaked early in some stores around Japan. Supposedly a person down at 2ch got a hold of an issue and has been adding information slowly. Here’s what we know so far.

- The FFXIII demo disc included with FFVIIACC will be a PS3 disc, it’s not on a standard blu-ray movie disc. This is good news for people with Euro PS3s, since it’ll probably mean the demo will work even if the movie is region locked.

- There’re 3 realtime screens of Agito XIII from the trailer, including a screen of Odin.

- 3 pages worth of FFXIII screens and stuff, about 20 screens. There are realtime screens too apparently.

- The FFXIII demo will be from the opening part of the game, and will be longer than FFVIIAC (longer than 90mins? ).

- 4 pages on Versus, about 10 screens all realtime.

- The world in Versus XIII worships a Shinigami and the Shinigami is designed by Amano

- The cars and clothing seen in the trailers so far will probably change in design for the final game

- The morale of the team is really high!

OMG AGITO XIII:

- They moved it to the PSP because they couldn’t wait for cellphones to get more advanced lolz

- The battle will be heavy on action but still sort of turn based. It will use an advanced version of Crisis Core’s high speed ATB system.

- Crisis Core was 1 player, but this time there will be multiple characters in the party.

- Right now it supports Infrastructure multiplayer for up to 3 players.

- Summons are part of the character growth system, and can also be controlled by players after summoning.

- The game will support both Ad-hoc and Infrastructure.

Could the following scans from the latest issue of Shonen Jump features be actual in-game screenshots of the following games; Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII.

They are from shots from the trailers shown at the Square Enix private party event in Tokyo, DKΣ3713, but they look quite believable.

If you listen to the latest 1UP Yours E3 2008 podcast you will notice that it has some rather interesting rumors on an unannounced Final Fantasy game for the Playstation 3. Listen to the podcast, towards the end of the cast, Shane mentions that he has been speaking to some people from Square Enix, who have believed to have said:

Final Fantasy XIII on 360 announcement swung the ball towards Microsoft. At Square Enix’s Japan event in 2 weeks, they will swing the ball back towards Sony”.

Many people think this will be the Final Fantasy VII remake for the PS3, others believe it could be Kingdom Hearts 3. My opinion is that Square Enix will probably just port over one of the 360 exclusives such as Star Ocean or Infinite Undiscovery.

We will have to wait and see won’t we.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is an action game developed by Square Enix and Published by Square Enix and will be released on the Playstation Portable. Dissidia: Final Fantasy is part of the campaign of the Final Fantasy series 20th anniversary.

What is different about New Dissidia: Final Fantasy from other Final Fantasy games is that the game features characters from Final Fantasy games in the past participating in one-on-one battles.

“Already announced characters for the game include; Warrior of Light (I), Garland (I), Firion (II), Emperor Palamecia (II), Sephiroth (VII), Squall Leonhart (VIII), Ultimecia (VIII), Zidane Tribal (IX) & Kuja (IX).”

“Now Tidus & Jecht from Final Fantasy X are confirmed to appear in the game.”

This should be a good game to play if you a major Final Fantasy fan.
